Today as the median family size is two, possibly three children, there remain the venturous souls among us who step out of what’s perceived as the social “norm” and have what is now a big family; 4,5, even 6 children. Recently I was privileged to photograph such a family, from Canada who stayed while in Maui at the luxurious Grand Wailea Resort. Having 4 beautiful children ages 18 months to 10 years of age, we had a great shoot as each of the children’s personalities shined through the entire session. The eldest, was a bit of a serious lad whose eldest child personality always reflected his responsible nature to help care for the younger siblings. He is followed by the younger brother, a middle child for a certainty whose clowning nature is evident throughout the session as the pictures reflected silly faces and smiles. Following him in birth order is the 4 year old ‘little princess’, such a delight to photograph as she never let me down always delivering another adorable smile. Then there was the littlest munchkin, a true reflection of the adoration a child whose stay at home mom has in the way of a beautiful bond.
